After the success of last year’s all night trams on Saturday nights during the Edinburgh Festival period they will once again be running in 2019 – with the addition of the service on Friday night’s as well! A 20 minute frequency will run between midnight and 0530 with restrictions at Ingliston Park and Ride also relaxed to allow the tram to take the strain for anyone attending the events during the Festival.
These services were run every Friday and Saturday from 3rd until 25th August with standard fares in operation throughout.
Sarah Singh, Operations Manager, said: “For three weeks in August we see a huge surge in customers wanting to come into the city, and as festival fever begins to grip the city Edinburgh Trams is ready to help you enjoy the extravaganza without having to worry about getting home. What’s more, the cost of travelling by tram at night will be the same as during the day, with a return ticket in the City Zone costing just £3.20 for adults.”
