Outside of the illumination season it is usually difficult for the general public to get a ride on an illuminated tram which makes Friday 26th July a pretty rare opportunity to ride the illuminated Western Train with the tram set to run a round tour from North Pier shortly after 1900.
Running an old school illumination tour route the Western Train is scheduled to leave North Pier/Tower at 1900 running north to Cabin (1910), Bispham (1915), Little Bispham (round the loop and then back south), Bispham (1925), Cabin (1930), North Pier/Tower (1940), Pleasure Beach (1955, round the loop and north) before terminating at North Pier/Tower at 2010.
Standard heritage round trip tickets will be on sale on the night (£5.50 adults, £3 children) and a special advance purchase family ticket is also available. Heritage Day tickets will also be valid on this trip.
At a time when there has been criticism of the same old events taking place in Blackpool this evening tour is that something a little bit different which will hopefully attract both the general public and enthusiasts to enjoy a daylight tour on the Western Train.
