Progress continues on TLC for Seaton fleet

With the tramway now closed again until February attention on the Seaton Tramway has returned to giving the hard worked members of the fleet some TLC with 9, 10 and 14 all currently being worked upon.

On 14 – which has already had attention to its paintwork this winter – all the glass has  now been removed and is to be replaced with new safety glass. So far one of the two new pillars is almost shaped and is due to be fitted next week.

The handrails off 10 have been returned to Riverside depot following powder coating and have now been refitted with the freshly painted panels.

Meanwhile 9’s repainting is progressing well with the light blue shade now completed; the dark blue will follow shortly. The handrails have – like 10’s been received back – and have also been refitted to the tram.

Attention at the Depot though isn’t being totally confined to the trams as the roof is having some solar panels fitted by contractors with the ac/dc convertors currently being fitted.
