September Review – Isle of Man: No. 26 – More Tunnel Cars in service

Leftover Turkey may be on the menu for you today but to take your thoughts away from that we bring you more photos from September’s Manx Electric Railway 125th anniversary week. This time around we once again feature the Tunnel Cars – which have been plying their trade on the line since 1894.

No. 9 is the illuminated tram and for 2018 was joined by a trailer with lights also installed – 58. In this image taken on 7th September we see both at Derby Castle after darkness has fallen during their debut evening together in this condition.

The very wet morning of 8th September sees Tunnel Car 5 at Derby Castle with the very appropriate choice of enclosed trailer 57 for company.

Another 8th September view this time seeing 6 and trailer 60. Once again we are at Derby Castle. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior)
