September Review – Isle of Man: No. 21 – Don’t forget the Snaefell Mountain Railway!

Of the three tramways on the Isle of Man the Snaefell Mountain Railway was the one which didn’t participate too much in events (save for the three no. 1s at Laxey on 2nd September) but that doesn’t mean we are going to completely ignore it!

Probably the most common of locations for a photo to be taken of a Snaefell Mountain Railway car is in Laxey Station and why would we want to be anything but predictable! This is no. 5 on 5th September.

Also at Laxey Station – but this time looking north – we see 2 arriving back with a trip from the Summit.

In heavy rain – meaning there wasn’t much point really in heading to the Summit as you would probably only be able to see one kingdom instead of seven! – 2 and 5 stand side-by-side at Laxey on 8th September. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior)
