Performance up again on Metrolink

For the second successive month performance on Manchester Metrolink has increased according to the latest figures released by KeolisAmey Metrolink. Both Punctuality and Reliability were up and in both cases these are the highest figures for this operating year. In all 99.4% of scheduled mileage was run although there were some problems on the Ashton-under-Lyne line with third party RTCs blocking the line at times.

Also during this period there was a signalling fault at Victoria on 8th September which caused some disruption with a point fault at MediaCityUK also occurring on 25th August.

The stats for period 6 – 19th August until 15th September are:

Punctuality (percentage of trams departing less than two minutes late)

Overall – 91.4% (previous period 90.8%)

Airport – 87.7% (88.2%)

Altrincham – 95.1% (95.4%)

Ashton-under-Lyne – 92.2% (92.5%)

Bury – 88.2% (89.1%)

East Didsbury – 96.6% (93.2%)

Eccles – 92.4% (88.6%)

Oldham & Rochdale – 87.5% (88.5%)

Reliability (percentage of planned miles operated)

Overall – 99.6% (previous period 99.3%)

Airport – 99.6% (99.2%)

Altrincham – 99.6% (99.3%)

Ashton-under-Lyne – 98.8% (98.1%)

Bury – 99.7% (99.7%)

East Didsbury – 99.6% (99.1%)

Eccles – 99.4% (99.6%)

Oldham & Rochdale – 99.6% (99.5%)

As usual with this report they also look ahead to ways they are looking to improve but in this case none of it is directly looking at the service with most looking at passenger safety including the installation of fencing and better lighting at Navigation Road.
