In Pictures: Volk’s Electric Railway Visitor Centre

Part of the Saving Volk’s project was the creation of a new visitor centre for the line to give a bit of background behind the history of the longstanding railway which runs along Brighton seafront. In this pictorial we take a quick look around the visitor centre from the camera of Stuart Cooke.

Within the visitor centre is a viewing gallery which allows views of those trains not in service on that day.

One of the information panels showing who has helped secure the line’s future.

Another information panel giving details of the history of the Volk’s Electric Railway following founder Magnus Volk’s death.

A general view of the visitor centre looking towards a small refreshment area.

As well as information panels there are also a number of artefacts on display.

One final view looking towards the entrance to the railway’s platform. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke)
