Midland Metro hoardings runner-up in national awards

Hoardings surrounding Midland Metro extension works have been named as runner-up in a national competition. Yes you read that right, we are discussing hoardings! What can we say, its been a slow news week!

The hoarding artwork had been designed by West Midlands school children from the Regents Park Community Primary School and was entered into the Ivor Goodsite Hoarding competition where they were named as runner up. This competition is run by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, an initiative started in 1997 to improve the image of construction.

The artwork was prepared by more than 300 children – aged between 5 and 11 – with 12 unique designs digitally transferred onto panels and installed for display at the construction site in Victoria Square. The artwork shows how the completion of the Westside extension will help improve transport links in the area.
