Birkenhead museum opening delayed

The planned re-opening of the Wirral Transport Museum at Birkenhead’s Taylor Street has unfortunately had to be delayed. Despite volunteers working countless hours over the past four weeks, it has proved to be impossible to have everything ready for the proposed opening date of 26th May, and a new date of Saturday 21st July has been set.

Many jobs remain to be completed, including moving around some of the larger exhibits, whilst the relevant health and safety certificates must be obtained before visitors can be allowed in. Whilst this is obviously frustrating, the end result should be well worth waiting for!

Trams continue to operate in the meantime, with a service provided on all three days of the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend – 26th, 27th & 28th May.
