Edinburgh Trams release latest photo update

The latest photo update from Edinburgh Trams was released this week showing recent progress across the line which will link the Airport with the City Centre, and finally these updates are starting to actually show some tangible progress.

It may be just a one page document but it shows that track laying is progressing at a number of locations with overhead poles also currently being installed.

Carrick Knowe bridge: Track has been laid and overhead poles are currently being installed

Haymarket: Track laying is underway in both directions at Haymarket Yards

Princes Street: The east end of the road has now been re-opened to two way bus traffic using a signal system. The road should re-open to general traffic by the end of November.

South St Andrew Street: Inbound track laying is underway

St Andrew Square: Tramline construction work is continuing.

A full update on the project is due to be presented to the Council at the end of October which should include information on the budget and whether the schedule previously announced is still being adhered to.

* We have our own photo update from Edinburgh on British Trams Online this week with a selection of photos taken around the depot at Gogar by Fred Fitter. You can see these photos at http://www.britishtramsonline.co.uk/gallery323.html
