First details announced for Heaton Park Tramway 2018 events

As one end starts to come to an end it is normally time to start looking ahead to the next and the latest tramway to announce their first event plans for 2018 is the Heaton Park Tramway in Manchester.

2018 looks set to see the return of many popular events from the past few years at Heaton Park with the highlight for enthusiasts likely to be the Tramtastic Day Out which is due to take place on Sunday 8th July. There is set to be an enhanced tram service with photo line-ups and a procession as the main highlights. It is also hoped to commemorate 100 years of female emancipation by recreating a photo which was taken on Heaton Park’s own tramway back in 1918.

Other events due to take place are:

1st-2nd April: Eggstrams Special Easter

21st-22nd April: Festival of Model Trams Extra (enhanced tram service and display of tram models in connection with the Festival of Model Tramways taking place at the Manchester Museum of Transport)

29th April: Open Day (the chance to see what the volunteers get up to)

17th June: Fathers Day Tram Driving Experience

2nd September: Trans Lancs Vehicle Rally (a 3 tram service and static displays at Lakeside with the annual Trans Lancs Vehicle Rally also taking place in Heaton Park)

Further details of all the events should follow as the year progresses and we will bring you the latest updates from Heaton Park as and when.
