More overhead woe in Nottingham

Coming just a week after the previous problems there were more delays to Nottingham Express Transit services after a fault with the overhead line in the Basford area on Saturday 28th October. As with the previous weeks problems through services were unable to run from Hucknall and Phoenix Park to the city centre and beyond although this time the delays didn’t last for quite as long.

The overhead fault was first reported shortly before 1130 with NET introducing a split service with trams from Hucknall and Phoenix Park running as far as Highbury Vale. Passengers then had to change to a tram which ran from Highbury Vale to Wilkinson Street from where another change was required to a through service for Toton Lane or Clifton South.

The fault was repaired during the afternoon with normal services resumed from 1700.
