In this instalment of Picture in Time we take another trip to Blackpool as we feature a tram arriving back at Rigby Road Depot presumably after another busy day on the Prom.
This is October 1962, a very different time today as there were no problems in enthusiasts accessing the depot to take photos as evidenced here with the photographer standing just inside the main depot as the tram rounds the curve into one of the higher numbered roads. Unfortunately it is not possible to positively identify the Balloon Car as it arrives at the depot although it does still feature twin destination blinds so there are some trams we know it isn’t but that doesn’t quite help with a full identification. The tram also carries the ubiquitous side adverts for Empire Pools.
