The “dual gauge” track is actually triple gauge. The 1435mm between the outer rails allows for a 915mm track one side of the third rail and a 457mm track on the other. I assume that this third rail is around 63mm wide at the head. Quite ingenious; I have not seen such an arrangement elsewhere.
