Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

As this is our last update until early in the new year we would like wish everyone who reads this website a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2016 has been a year full of ups and downs in the UK tram scene with the good seeing the return of trams to service after restoration/overhaul, popular tram loans and some excellent speciale events. However, unfortunately, it is the bad which has dominated the headlines with the tragic derailment in Croydon bringing trams to the attention of the national media whilst we also saw the fire suffered by Blackpool Twin Car 272+T2 in September make the news.

As has become traditional British Trams Online will be taking a complete Christmas break which mean after Christmas Eve morning’s “Picture in Time” upload there will be no further updates until early in 2017 and the comments function on the news page will also be switched off.

It just leaves me to thank everyone who has contributed to British Trams Online in 2016 – without you we wouldn’t be able to provide such a comprehensive look at trams in the British Isles – and also to everyone who reads the website as if you didn’t there wouldn’t be much point!

Merry Christmas – see you in 2017!

Thank you to both Gareth and Andrew for keeping us updated throughout the year. It can’t be easy devoting the time to keep the website up to date with the latest news, but it is appreciated. I look forward to my regular “fix” of British Trams Online in 2017 and beyond !. Thanks again.
