NET services delayed after car incursion

Just to prove that it isn’t only motorists in Greater Manchester who manage to drive onto tram tracks, services on Nottingham Express Transit’s Chilwell line were delayed on Wednesday 21st October after a car became stuck on the Lenton Lane bridge near to ng2.

The 4×4 vehicle managed to drive some distance along the tram tracks and onto the bridge and managed to get his car firmly stuck causing all tram movements in the area to be suspended. Eyewitness reports suggested the driver was just embarrassed by the incident and did not suffer any injuries. NET engineers attended the scene and managed to free the car allowing services to resume.

The incident happened at 0830 with services suspended until 0945.
