Picture in Time: Great Orme Tramway 5

Its back to Wales for our latest “Picture in Time” as we are on the Great Orme for a view of no. 5 in 1968.

No. 5 originally entered service in 1902 when the line opened to the public and has remained in service pretty much constantly over the past 113 years. We catch up with the tram as it is heading down the mountain on 9th August 1968 on the lower section with a full load of passengers. Passers by pause to watch the tram continue its descent.
