Another new timetable for NET

Nottingham Express Transit are to introduce another new timetable from Monday 20th April this time improving the afternoon timetable. As you may remember during March a new timetable was introduced which saw a 3-5 minute frequency during the morning peak and now this is to be expanded to the afternoon peak to provide 200 extra seats an hour.

This new timetable is being introduced ahead of the new lines to Chilwell and Clifton opening this year and will see trams running to and from Hucknall every 7-10 minutes and Phoenix Park every 7-10 minutes between 0700 and 1000 and 1500-1900 Mondays to Saturdays. This combines to give a tram every 3-5 minutes during these times on the main section of the network between Highbury Vale and Station Street.

Jamie Swift, Marketing Manager at NET, said: “Offering around 200 extra seats an hour available at peak times, the new morning timetable has already proved a hit with customers. Now we are planning to introduce similar service levels during the afternoon as people make their way home from work. By providing additional trams at busy times we are responding to the needs of customers whilst preparing for the opening of what will be an impressive cross-city transport link.”
