Metrolink delays after taxi collides with tram in Rochdale

Manchester Metrolink services were suspended between Newbold and Rochdale Town Centre for around half an hour on Thursday 8th May after a taxi was involved in a collision with a tram on Maclure Road. The incident occurred shortly before 1230 and partially blocked the line outside Rochdale railway station. No injuries were reported and services resumed at around 1300 after the area was cleared.

    Yet another incident involving a taxi. When are the authorities going to tighten up on the assessing of taxi drivers?

    We both know the reason why Ken. An elephant in the room springs to mind. Rochdale Met are probably too scared to tackle the problem.
