Further details revealed for Seaton Weekend Extravaganza in June

The programme of events for the Trains, Trams and Buses Gala Weekend on Saturday 23rd
and Sunday 24th June at the Seaton Tramway has now been revealed on their website. This event is a joint event between the tramway, the Yeovil Railway Centre and Pecorama with the main tramway highlight being the official launch of 8 in its new Bristol blue livery.

As well as the launch of 8 other highlights include an end of service cavalcade from Colyton, all trams in service, behind the scenes tours, photographers’ specials and the Driver’s Eye Experience. There will also be a rare chance to visit Seaton Junction Station.

Saturday 23rd June

Launch of 8 in its Bristol Blue livery

End of Service Cavalcade from Colyton

Driver’s Eye Experience

All available Trams operating a frequent service

Visits to Seaton Junction Station and Branch Line Tours – timetable to be confirmed

In addition (and not included in the Weekend Ticket Price) there will be An Evening with a Neil Diamond Tribute Show at Colyton Station between 1930 and 2230. Further details of this evening have yet to be finalised.

Sunday 24th June

Depot Visits, Workshop tours and Memorabilia displays

Photographers’ specials

Wetland visits

Driver’s Eye Experience

All available Trams operating a frequent service

Short Working Trips & Siding tours

At the Yeovil Railway Centre – on both days – the following events are being
planned:

Hoping to launch Andrew Barclay “Lord Fisher” into service

Class 50 cab visit

Completion of protracted industrial diesel overhaul stands a good chance of being ready
for naming

Normal brake van/coach rides behind the Centre’s other steam engine supported by
Miniature Railway & Model Railways

Displays of tractors, vintage vehicles and Military vehicles in the car park

Demonstrations of the turntable with steam engine

Refreshments and shop available

Meanwhile the following events will be provided at Pecoroma on both days:

Entry to Pecorama Gardens and Peco Model Railway Exhibition

One ride on the Beer Heights Light Railway

Tours of the loco shed

Rare photo opportunities from across the tracks to capture all the Peco loco’s in
the loco shed sidings

An intensified train service including double-headed trains and a goods train
service

For this very special event across three sites Weekend Tickets will be available at £25 per person. This ticket will allow one entry over the weekend to Seaton Tramway, Yeovil Railway Station and Pecorama, train travel on South West Trains services between Yeovil Junction and Axminster and a special vintage bus service to and from Axminster railway station, Seaton Tramway and Pecorama. There will be no discount available to Seaton Tramway Loyalty Card holders. The tickets will be available to be purchased either online or by phone.
