Woman hit by tram in Sheffield City Centre

A woman was hit by a tram near to the Cathedral tramstop in Sheffield City Centre on Saturday 10th December at around 1115. The incident happened when there were large crowds of people around Christmas shopping and it has been reported that the weather was icy at the time although it is not confirmed whether that played a part in the incident. South Yorkshire Police have started an investigation into what caused the accident. Tram services were suspended through the area whilst the woman was treated and the investigation into the causes was undertaken.
