Discounted tram travel for British Junior Squash Open ticket holders

The latest partnership between the West Midlands Metro and local organisations has been announced which will allow anyone going to see the British Junior Squash Open in Birmingham the chance to get 15% off an all zone ticket.

The British Junior Squash Open takes place between 2nd and 6th January 2026, with one of its venues being at the University of Birmingham which is just a short walk from tramstops. More than 700 young players from across the UK and world will be taking part, in an event which is expected to be popular with spectators.

Elizabeth Cole, Marketing and Communications Manager at West Midlands Metro, said: “As part of our new partnership with the competition organisers, anyone with a ticket to one of the world’s most prestigious junior squash championships can enjoy 15 per cent off the cost of a Zone 1–4-day ticket.

“We’re delighted to support this fantastic tournament, the young people taking part, and local sports facilities hosting matches and doing so much to raise the profile of Birmingham and the surrounding areas.”

The offer can be taken advantage of by scanning a QR code which will be sent to visitors and competitors, and can then be used to generate the discount on the My Metro app.
