Time for another edition of “Numbers”.

In this image was see Gateshead 10, a tram which has been out of service since 2016 but is now on the road to a return with its overhaul starting to reach a conclusion in the workshops at Beamish. Built in 1925, the tram ran in its home town until 1951 when it was sold on for further use on the Grimsby and Immingham system (taking the identity of 26) and would have another ten years of service there. It was lucky it that it was earmarked for preservation and after restoration would start passenger services at Beamish in 1970. After a spell back as 26 it would be withdrawn in 2016 for overhaul which has been a thorough and lengthy job but with some luck should be completed soon.
