Picture in Time: Midland Metro 07

And for the last time in this series “Picture in Time” comes from Midland Metro.

After four weeks of seeing trams in the original livery, this time see 07 in the Network West Midlands silver and magenta livery (a version of which would also originally be seen on the Urbos3 trams before the blue took over). Its just arriving at Jewellery Quarter with a service to Wolverhampton St George’s on 11th March 2009 when seen in this image.

07 had only been back in service for just over a year when this photo was taken having spent the best part of nine years out of use. It was involved in a traffic accident not long after the system opened in 1999, and would be used as a Christmas Tree to keep others in traffic. That was until more accident damage to other trams was a catalyst for it to be repaired, and after a trip to Crewe, it returned to service in February 2008 and at that point would be in the new livery.
