A man was taken to hospital in Edinburgh after he was hit by a tram in Leith. The 66 year old was struck by the Newhaven bound tram on Constitution Street close to The Shore tramstop at around 1330 on Friday 7th November 2025 with emergency services attending the scene to treat his injuries.
Constitution Street was closed for around two hours whilst the emergency services were dealing with the incident. Some reports from the scene suggested the man was trapped under the tram, although this has not been confirmed.
The man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for further treatment. The severity of his injuries have not been revealed.
