In Pictures: Advert removals continue in Blackpool

As we’ve seen regularly over the past few months, Blackpool Transport have been making an effort to remove expired adverts off the trams. Many of these have been on the trams for significant periods of time and its making a difference to the look of many of the trams and frees them for future advertising too. The latest tram where a start has been made on removing old adverts is 008.

As with many trams in the fleet, 008 had a dual advert with above window ads and the small below window advert for stroke and heart attack prevention. Whilst the larger adverts along the length of the tram above the windows currently remain – this being one of the trams which had NHS adverts, this particular one for blood pressure checks – the small lower adverts have now been taken off the tram.

008 is seen at Manchester Square following the removal of the stroke/heart attack prevention adverts. As can be seen the other ads remain in place. Note also the poppy in the cab window. (Photograph by Oliver Shenton, 18th October 2025)
