“Trams &” goes to Edinburgh as we see one of the trams running on the Newhaven extension along with a visiting cruise ship.
Leith Docks is a regular stopping point for various cruises and on Saturday 21st June 2025 it was the turn of Azamara Quest to call as part of a 12-day itinerary from Southampton to Dublin via Leith, Aberdeen, Invergordon, Kirkwall, Lerwick, Stornoway, Oban and Greenock. Azamara Quest is a R class cruise ship which was originally launched in 2000 as R Seven for Renaissance Cruises. It would only operate for around a year with Renaissance Cruises after they ceased trading and after a couple of years out of use it was chartered to Delphin Seereisen when it was named Delphin Renaissance. 2006 saw it sold to Pullmantur Cruises and it operated as Blue Moon until 2007 when it was sold on once again. This time it was Azamara Cruises who renamed it Azamara Quest and it entered service with them on 24th October 2007, and 18 years later its still plying its trade for that company. It can carry up to 710 passengers and has a crew of 410.
With the cruise ship sitting at Leith Cruise Terminal it is passed by 273 on its way to the terminus at Newhaven. This tram is one of nine which carries vinyls for Emirates and encouraging people to go to far warmer places than this sailing for the cruise ship.
