In Pictures: Blackpool 013 gets a new partial advert

When Blackpool Transport said that they had now taken advertising in-house they also teased that they had bene talking to other local attractions to advertise on the trams, and the first of these has now been revealed with Flexity2 013 receiving a partial advertising livery for Hole in the Wand Mini Golf.

Whilst we have been reporting on the removal of adverts frequently over recent months, 013 had not been one of those we had reported on with it having last been carrying for Stay Blackpool.com, as well as the ubiquitous heart attack and stroke prevention vinyls at the bottom of the centre section of the tram.

But these adverts have now been removed as a contract has been signed for the tram to advertise Hole in the Wand Mini Golf. As with the Blackpool Zoo adverts applied in June this is of the “T Bar” style. This sees the centre section having a full height ad whilst the other sections have the adverts just over the windows with fleet livery remaining below the windows and also on the cabs.

This is the first time that 013 can claim to have had an advertising livery (albeit only a partial one) and means that currently there are five of the modern trams carrying liveries such as this, the highest number since the upgraded tramway started in 2012. How long it remains at five remains to be seen as its thought the contract for 014’s advert on Wednesday is due to expire shortly with it being a six-week contract (and in Manchester 3117 has lost its vinyls for the same show).

Not long after its adverts were applied, 013 is see in this photo shunting just outside Starr Gate Depot.

The centre section of the advert. It does include contravision on the window although as this is completely blank of any images, words or anything you do wonder why?

How much longer will we see 014 running in its Wednesday advert? We see the tram leaving North Station with a service to Fleetwood Ferry. (All Photographs by Oliver Shenton, 20th September 2025)
