We are approaching the end of our journey on the Edinburgh Trams system as “Stop by Stop” continues today.
Our tram departs from Gogarburn stop and almost immediately it takes another sharp turn as it continues its journey. In the next part of the journey we go over Gogar Burn itself and are still surrounded by countryside (although development may be coming) on the way to Ingliston Park and Ride, and before too long that is where we arrive. This is the last stop in the “City Zone” and so unless you have paid the premium Airport fare this is where you will alight, and you will often see a large number of passengers get off here, many of whom have taken advantage of the extensive Park and Ride site here.
As for the stop itself, well its pretty much what we have come to expect on the network. There are platforms either side of the tracks and each platform has all the usual to make your wait for the next tram as comfortable as possible.

We go back to 21st June 2017 for this image at Ingliston, and its one for all those who mourn the loss of the fleet livery on Edinburgh Trams. This is 259 which is stopping at the stop on the way to York Place (which was as far as things went back then) with not an advert in sight. Although its eight years since this was taken not a great deal has changed at the stop since.

A more up-to-date image at Ingliston Park and Ride on 29th June 2025 as we see 276 arriving in a wrap for Edinburgh Dungeon. The tram is running out of service but when it gets to the Airport it would enter service for a trip to Newhaven. Shelters, bins, validators, passenger information display are all seen in this image. The one big difference between these two photos are the big promotion of Tap-on, Tap-off payments. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
