Side by Side: Blackpool Coronation 304 & Trawler 737

We are again looking at trams “Side by Side” in this pictorial article.

And we are at the northern outpost of the Blackpool Tramway with an evening view at what was then the Fleetwood Ferry loading stop for journeys back to Blackpool. It still had a two track layout to allow trams to be stabled or be passed and on this occasion Coronation 304 was taking a break during a tour – the day before the Totally Transport event – and its joined by Illuminated Trawler 737. The Trawler was in fact on the normal timetabled service (as was not that uncommon at this time) and passengers are just boarding it for a trip to Blackpool. It will be followed soon after by the Coronation – part of the Fylde Transport Trust collection and currently stored at Rigby Road Depot – which will also be going back south.
