In Pictures: 3075 receives Captain Morgan adverts as two more go back to fleet livery

More Manchester Metrolink advert changes to report on with one receiving new vinyls whilst two have returned to full fleet livery again. The three trams we look at in this article are 3075, 3003 and 3038.

We start this review with the tram which has received a new advert – 3075. The tram has now been wrapped in a design for Captain Morgan with the vinyls applied at the end of July 2025. The advert uses a nice mix of colours and a cartoon style design and its another ad which wil stand out from the crowd amongst the trams in Manchester.

3075 has been without an advert for just over a month following the removal of its National Trust Blossom Watch advert in June 2025. The Captain Morgan advert is its tenth different advert, although three of those were the same advertiser – The Trafford Centre. Its first was for The Body Shop on March 2019 and aside from The Trafford Centre ads it has also been wrapped for Chester Zoo, Caudalie Skincare, Procore and Cano Water.

Meanwhile, there are two trams which are now back in standard fleet livery. The first of these was 3003 which (unsurprisingly) lost its partial advert for Oasis soon after the concerts ended, these vinyls arrived in June 2025 and were removed July 2025, they were the first time the tram had received any form of external advertising.

3038 is also now back in fleet livery with its Berghaus vinyls removed at the end of July 2025. This is the first time since April 2025 that the tram has been in fleet livery with the tram firstly advertising Soccer Aid and then from June 2025, Berghaus. It has also been used to promote the Get On Board campaign with two designs from March 2023 to December 2024.

3075 in its Captain Morgan advert at Shudehill with a Manchester Airport service on 1st August 2025, a few days after the vinyls were added to the tram.

3003 back in full fleet livery after its partial advertising for Oasis Live 2025 were removed. St Peter’s Square with a Bury-Altrincham service.

And 3038 is also back in fleet livery. It too is captured at Shudehill when working to Altrincham. Sadly as with many of the older trams its spotty livery is starting to look tired and the constant ripping off of vinyls probably doesn’t help! (All Photographs by Reece Hughes)
