In Pictures: Blackpool 006 goes advert free

The modern Flexity2 trams in Blackpool have become rather attached to their adverts over the years, something which has aided identification of them from a distance a lot more straightforward considering how small the fleet numbers are! But one tram which has an association with one advertiser for over 10 years has now gone advert free – 006.

Flexity2 006 had first received adverts for Tunnocks caramel wafer biscuits in September 2014 and had then become one of many trams to receive heart attack adverts (advice to prevent them that is rather than encouraging you to have one) in 2023.

The heart attack adverts were the first to be removed from the tram with these being noted as absent on Friday 11th July. Then just a week later and the bigger change came as the Tunnocks ads (which were across the top of the tram, whilst the heart attack design was on the lower part of the central section only) were off.

The tram is now in the standard fleet livery with no additional vinyls to be seen!

Saturday 12th July 2025 and 006 is seen running without the heart attack ads at Fleetwood Ferry. The Tunnocks strip remains in place at this point though.

Then seven days later on 19th July 2025 and the tram is now seen devoid of all advertising. Here it is seen at North Station.
