London Trams Engineering Works: 15th to 23rd February 2025

The first school holiday of the year is incoming, and as it often does it comes along with engineering works on London Trams with the central Croydon section of the network being closed for an extended period of time.

Starting from Saturday 15th February and continuing until Sunday 23rd February there will be no trams between Reeves Corner and East Croydon to allow for rail replacement. Saturday 15th also sees the worksite extended so that its no trams Reeves Corner-Sandilands. Throughout the same period there will be no service from Arena to Elmers End.

Navid Golshan, TfL General Manager for London Trams, commented: “This planned maintenance is vital to ensure we can continue to offer customers a reliable service across the London Trams network.  As part of this closure we have also taken the opportunity to undertake some additional essential works with an aim to minimise the need for future closures.  I would like to thank customers for their patience while this takes place and would ask anyone travelling to plan ahead, allowing plenty of time for any journey.”

There will be no dedicated tram replacement buses in the affected area but passengers are being advised to use normal service buses which will continue to run.

During this closure work will also be undertaken on rail replacement at Centrale, repairs on Tamworth Road as well as platform works at Centrale, George Street, and Church Street.
