In Pictures: JD adverts spread to Manchester

Manchester Metrolink is the second UK tramway to currently carry advertising for JD Sports after an identical advert to that already seen in Sheffield was applied to 3118. The one big difference in the Manchester version is that it includes vinyls over some of the windows.

The vinyls were applied to 3118 in mid-November with the tram first seen in service with its new look on Friday 22nd November. The ends of the tram remain in standard Metrolink fleet livery with the remainder wrapped in black vinyls with images of products available from JD Sports, the company’s logo and writing in yellow.

This is the third advert of 3118’s career, all of which have been on the tram during 2024. The year started off in April with an advert for Tommy Hilfiger which remained until May and then in June new vinyls were added for AliExpress which were then removed in July. 3118 has been back in fleet livery since but is now back in the advert club.

As mentioned last week, 3075 is now back in fleet livery following the stripping of its Cano vinyls. On a day when a canoe may have been useful the tram is at Exchange Square. (Photograph by Reece Hughes, 24th November 2024)
