Two Metrolink collisions in a week on Ashton line

Manchester Metrolink services on the line out to Ashton-under-Lyne were disrupted twice within a week after collisions between trams and cars.

The first incident happened on Saturday 9th November, when a car and tram collided between Edge Lane and Clayton Hall tramstops. Services were suspended between Velopark and Ashton-under-Lyne whilst the scene was cleared.

Then on Wednesday 13th November there was a further collision close to The Snipe pub near to Audenshaw tramstop.  Again no trams were able to run between Velopark and Ashton-under-Lyne as the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Yet MORE careless drivers out and about. Will they NEVER learn and pay attention when driving?
