Expansion of NET Park and Ride states abandoned

Plans to add extra spaces to Park and Ride sites on Nottingham Express Transit have been abandoned as a result of reduced demand with the increase in home working. It had been planned that more spaces would be provided at both Hucknall and Phoenix Park but this now won’t happen.

The two Park and Ride sites are at the ends of their line and currently have 439 spaces (Hucknall) and 657 spaces (Phoenix Park). The previously announced plans would have seen a total of an extra 800 spaces added to them.

But having reviewed numbers of cars using the sites, Nottingham City Council has agreed with the government to not proceed with the plans. They had originally secured funds from the Transforming Cities Fund to increase the number of parking spaces.
