Manchester Metrolink 3081 is certainly standing out from the crowd on the network now after it received bright new pink advertising vinyls. The tram is now promoting Juneyao Airlines, a Chinese airline who chose Manchester Airport for their first UK service starting from July 2024.
The advert is mainly pink and is the style we are well used to on Manchester Metrolink with the tram ends retaining fleet colours and the rest of tram wrapped, including many of the central windows having vinyls.
3081 had only recently been advertising Auto Trader but that advert which had been applied in July 2024 has now been removed. This latest advert is in fact its seventh: IKEA (May-December 2019), Starling Bank (July-August 2022), GetOnBoard (July-October 2023). Hard Rock Café (July-October 2023) and Delicia Drench Body Butter (March-May 2024) being the other five.
3081 was appropriately allocated to the Manchester Airport line when seen in this photo at Victoria. It was part of a double unit and is seen here as the front of the two as it prepares to depart.
