It has been announced that the reception desk at the Tyne and Wear Metro’s South Gosforth Control Centre will close permanently from Monday 12th August. The decision has been made owing to low customer footfall using this facility with the team based there now being redeployed as part of the wider Customer Relations Team.
All the services which have been provided by the reception team are available online, by email, phone, post or through the assistance of staff on duty at bus and Metro stations.
In a statement Nexus said: “By having more of the team supporting our wider Customer Relations Team we can provide a more efficient and effective service to our customers. We will be altering and improving some processes and asking our customers to interact with us in slightly different ways.
