Picture in Time: Croydon Tramlink 2541

We go back into the archives again as we have another edition of “Picture in Time” from Croydon Tramlink.

We look at CR4000 2541 here as it is seen at Arena with a service which is running to West Croydon. At this time all services from both Elmers End and Beckenham Junction would work into central Croydon and then around the loop in the town centre before heading back in this direction (a change to today when Wimbledon is their destination).

2541 was delivered to Croydon on 18th February 1999. As seen here it was carrying advertising both above and below windows; those below were promoting the fact that Transport for London were now running Tramlink (although Tram Operations Limited retained the concession as operator).
