More works will be taking place on the West Midlands Metro over the summer, with the first service change set to be in place on Sunday 2nd June.
The work will see upgrades to the power system and as a result on Sunday 2nd June the following changes to the service will be made:
- From start of service until midday trams will run up to every 12 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Black Lake. No trams Black Lake to Edgbaston Village.
- From midday until the end of service a normal service will run up to every 12 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Edgbaston Village.
During the disruption Metro tickets will be accepted on National Express bus services 79 between Wednesbury and West Bromwich, 74 between West Bromwich and Birmingham and all services between Colmore Row, Five Ways and Edgbaston Village. In addition they can be used on West Midlands Railway services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham and from The Hawthorns, Jewellery Quarter, Snow Hill and Five Ways.
