Tram and car collide on Edinburgh Trams

There was a delay to services on Edinburgh Trams on Saturday 23rd March after a car and tram collided close to Gyle Centre. There were no injuries reported on either the tram or in the car but the incident required the emergency services to attend and led to a partial suspension of tram services.

The collision happened at just after 1200 and saw a Mini and tram no. 262 collide at the road junction just to the city side of the stop at Gyle Centre. Photos from the scene show that the tram suffered from damage to one end with the Mini also being damaged.

The service was suspended between Edinburgh Park Station and Edinburgh Airport during the incident with trams still running from Edinburgh Park Station to Newhaven.
