Around the World in Trams: Bendigo 918

For the last time we go to Bendigo in “Around the World in Trams”.

This time out we feature the newest of the trams we’ve taken a look at from Bendigo – 1946 built SW6 class no. 918. Originally operating in Melbourne, 918 remained serviceable until the late 1990s when it became part of Melbourne’s reserve fleet and then in March 2005 it moved to Bendigo to take up its role as a Vintage Talking Tram. During 2017 it became the Dja Dja Wurrung Tram and now shares the traditions of Bendigo’s first people.

Its as the Dja Dja Wurrung Tram that we see 918 in this photo as it stands on display at the Deborah Mine terminus.
