Metro dogs on trams trial extended

West Midlands Metro’s trial of allowing dogs on board their trams has been extended by a further three months to allow more feedback to be collected.

Explaining more on the decision to extend the trial was Anthony Stanley, Metro’s Head of Operations and Safety: “We’ve been delighted with the number of people that have taken the time to share their feedback during the initial trial period and this information has been reviewed alongside the data that has been recorded from a service perspective.

“It is important that we take into account as many views as possible before agreeing to a permanent approach. By extending the trial, this will provide us with feedback and data collected over a substantial period of time, enabling us to make a decision which will ensure that we can continue to deliver a safe and secure, reliable and sustainable service for our customers.

The extended trial will now run until the end of February 2024. Feedback can be provided at this link: https://www.westmidlandsmetro.com/contact/dogs-on-tram-trial/
