Around the World in Trams: Port de Soller 23

In this edition of “Around the World in Trams” we return to Port de Soller for another image.

Taken at Mar u sol again the tram we are looking at is 23. Another one of the ex-Libson trams which have been converted and regauged to operate on the Port de Soller line it can trace its original Lisbon history back to the late 1930s when it was built by Carris. Now restored and in the Port de Soller livery in this photo it was coupled to a trailer with another motor behind.

  1. Julian Wells says:

    Err … are you sure?

It doesn’t look anything like a Lisbon car.

Also, my memory is that both Soller and Lisboa were — unusually for Continental systems — 3ft (900mm) gauge.
