Queens Road Metrolink stop work continues

The next phase of works to construct a new stop at Queens Road on the Bury line of Manchester Metrolink has now started. This work will complete the construction of both the inbound and outbound platforms and is expected to take approximately eight weeks.

The work will take place Monday-Friday next to the existing tramway at times when trams are not running for safety reasons. Work is being undertaken to construct the lift shaft, erect columns to support the access stairway to the outbound platform and lay the foundations to the inbound platform. Measures are being taken to try and minimise noise so as not to inconvenience local residents too much.

The Queens Road stop will replace the current staff halt at this location and will enable Metrolink to close the nearby Woodlands Road stop. No opening date has yet been revealed for the stop.
