15 Years Apart: Stagecoach Supertram 116

In this edition of “15 Years Apart” we head to South Yorkshire for a couple of images of 116 – one of the trams built by Siemens-Duewag for the opening of the system back in 1994.

116 is no stranger to not carrying fleet livery with it having carried seven different adverts in its career. In 2008 it was on just its second, which was also its second for Meadowhall. This purple based advert told us that Meadowhall was a “Land of Shoppertunity”! We see 116 at Middlewood on 6th June 2008. (Photograph by Gareth Prior)

Then on 19th November 2023 we see 116 just departing from Cathedral when being used on Driver Training duties. 116 did start off the year in fleet livery having lost its ad for XPO Logistics at the end of 2022, but from April 2023 it received this advert which is promoting the Park and Ride sites provided at various Supertram stops.
