Each year in the lead up to Manchester Pride (25th-28th August) Metrolink celebrate the event by putting at least one on their trams in a special livery. This has seen the spots on the standard livery changed to rainbow colours as well as other variations but for 2023 its an even bolder attempt with a full wrap (aside from the ends of the tram) having been applied to 3023.
The new wrap features the rainbow colours of LGBTQIA+ including purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, brown, blue and pink and also includes the slogan “LOVE CONNECTS EVERYONE”. The livery was first spotted during early August and will presumably remain in place until after Pride has taken place.
This is the first time that 3023 has lost its standard fleet livery.
