Tramlink Engineering Works: 4th-13th August

The summer of engineering works on English tramways continues with London Tramlink the latest to confirm details of their programme of renewal. The work will start on Friday 4th August and continue through until Sunday 13th August and is again impacting the Wimbledon to Therapia Lane section of the network.

During this period of work the following changes will be in place:

  • No trams from Wimbledon to Therapia Lane
  • Trams will continue to run Therapia Lane to Beckenham Junction/Elmers End (subject to tram availability)
  • Replacement buses will operate Wimbledon (for Dundonald Road)-Morden Road (for Merton Park)-Belgrave Walk (for Phipps Walk)-Mitcham-Mitcham Junction-Mitcham Common (The Ravensbury) for bus route 264 connections-Beddington Lane-Therapia Lane-Ampere Way-Waddon Marsh

Hopefully during this period the chance will also be taken to get more of the trams back on the rails following the recent issues with the wheels which has led to severe tram shortages. Whilst these have lessened recently, there do remain regular service changes with the Elmers End route either being suspended or running a significantly reduced frequency.
