The first quarter of 2023 saw a number of new advert liveries make an appearance on Manchester Metrolink. In this edition of “Out and About” we take a look at some of them.
First appearing at the end of March 2023 was this advert on 3031 for the Great Manchester Run. Using a combination of red, blue and images of happy people running the striking tram is seen at St Peter’s Square in this view.
3038 received an advert for the TfGM Get on Board promotion, encouraging people to use public transport in the region. This was the first advert for the tram. Heading to Altrincham its caught at St Peter’s Square.
Another late March 2023 applied advert was on 3080 for the USDAW union. Almost identical to a previous design for the same union on 3064, the tram and advert are seen in this photo at St Peter’s Square. (All Photographs by Michael Morton, 3rd May 2023)
Unable to see through the contravision if sat by a window where contravision has been applied. Certainly a health and safety issue for poor sighted passengers. Money will always win in these situations.
