In Pictures: Supertram 116’s advert in service

A few weeks ago we brought you the news that Stagecoach Supertram 116 had received a new advertising livery promoting the Park and Ride sites available across the network. At that time it hadn’t entered service and the photos we included were of it stabled in the tram depot but not long after that was published it did enter service and we can now feature it out on the system.

As we mentioned at the time, 116 is no stranger to adverts having carried the most of any tram on the Supertram network. This started off in September 2004 with a design for Meadowhall (until April 2006) and that was then followed by another design for Meadowhall (April 2006-January 2009), Genting Club (July 2012-June 2014), East Midlands Trains (June 2014-September 2017), Doncaster Sheffield Airport (September 2017-March 2019) and XPO Logistics (September 2017-March 2019).

116 stands at Castle Square showing off the new advert with its two tone blue colours.

Some of the detail of the advert is seen here. (Photographs x2 by Ryan Hartley, 10th May 2023)

A few days later and we catch up with 116 at Langsett Road.
